ABOUT

Laser hair reduction technology

Kaylee Webb: “This state of the art, medical grade laser uses a combination of optical energy with bi-polar radio frequency for safe and effective treatments on all skin types. Its many different applicators can treat a wide variety of your needs and can achieve permanent hair reduction of pigmented hair on all skin types. Unlike other laser hair removal technologies, our technology targets and destroys the hair follicle without impacting the surrounding skin. An added benefit: a unique cooling feature within the applicator also ensures that patients with sensitive skin are comfortable during the treatment.”

FAQs about Laser Hair Reduction

How long will hair reduction results last?

Results are typically permanent, with up to 90-95% hair reduction on said body areas. However, after a series of treatments have been completed, you may want an annual treatment to maintain the quality of results. This highly depends on your hair color and density of hair.

How long does laser hair treatment take to complete?

A full hair removal treatment takes approximately six to eight sessions to complete, spaced four to eight weeks apart. Depending on the surface area and the amount of hair being removed, the process takes less than a year to complete. Multiple sessions are required for a successful laser hair removal treatment as the hair follicle must be targeted during the growth cycle.

How soon can I expect results?

Results will start to become noticeable within the two to four weeks after your first treatment. We recommend that you only shave the area in between sessions, as other methods of hair removal such as waxing or plucking will remove the follicle, which is what we want to destroy.

Is laser hair reduction painful?

Cryogen is a super effective substance that cools the skin during work with laser machines. As a result, it reduces pain while increasing your comfort.

What can I expect after my laser hair treatment?

After your laser hair removal treatment, the treated skin may feel sensitive, warm, and slightly irritated. These mild side effects are quite common and will be gone within 48 hours of your treatment. [Ensure the treated skin stays out of direct sunlight and avoid skin care treatments for two weeks.]

After a laser hair removal treatment, a condition called perifollicular edema occurs. This swelling in the hair follicles indicates that energy was sufficiently absorbed and the follicles are slowly being disabled. Along with swelling, redness, itching, and stinging may last for a day or two.

Your hair follicles may feel a bit uncomfortable, too, so you may want to use hydrocortisone cream or treat it with cool compresses to soothe it. Along with follicular edema, redness is also a common (and good!) sign after laser hair removal.

Patients can expect hair growth to decrease within the four-week span of their approximately six to eight treatments. During this time, you can shave your hair, but cannot pluck, wax, or tweeze your hair as the hair follicle is an important part during this clinical procedure.

How can I best prepare for my laser hair treatment?

For optimal results and to avoid the possibility of hyper-pigmentation, it is recommended you keep the area out of direct sunlight four weeks before your treatment. Prior to your appointment, shave the area that is going to be treated as this allows the laser to not target visible hair, but the actual hair follicle below the skin. Avoid waxing, tweezing, or plucking the hairs prior to your treatment. This allows the laser to target the hair follicle and prevent future grow back.
