About Laser

Hair Reduction

Comfortable. Cool. Cost-effective.

How it works.

The gentle laser targets the hair follicle with intense laser light energy for thermal destruction to provide permanent hair reduction over the course of a few treatments.

With fast treatment times, the laser hair reduction process delivers a more comfortable patient experience through its distinctive Dynamic Cooling Device™. This cooling system sprays the skin before each laser pulse with a cooling burst of cryogen over the treatment area, providing a cooling protection factor more than 50% greater than contact or air cooling for optimal comfort.

Our gentle hair reduction treatment is faster and more comfortable than standard laser hair reduction treatment, with 80% permanent hair reduction in only three (3) treatments.

FAQs

How long does a laser hair reduction treatment take?

A treatment can take as little as a few minutes to as long as an hour, depending on the treatment area and the condition being treated. Both legs can often be treated in as few as 15 minutes, as can an average-sized man’s back.

Is laser hair removal painful?

Some clients may feel slight discomfort, which has been compared to snapping a rubber band against the skin. This discomfort resolves quickly and is minimized by our patented Dynamic Cooling Device™

How many treatments will I need?

Multiple treatments are required to achieve the full hair reduction effect. The hairs on your body are not always at the same stage, so you’ll need to undergo 6-10 treatments, an average of six to eight weeks apart, to catch them all in the growth stage.

How do I prepare for a laser hair reduction treatment?
  1. For about six weeks prior to treatment, you should avoid plucking, electrolysis, or waxing.
  2. On the day of your treatment, skin should be clean-shaven and thoroughly cleansed of any makeup, creams, oils, topical anesthetics or self-tanning products.
  3. Do not expose the treatment area to sunlight or tanning booth light prior to or immediately after treatment for 4-6 weeks..
  4. If you are prone to cold sores, please take your prophylactic prior to treatment.
  5. Please discontinue use of tanning creams, tanning beds, or bronzers before and during treatments.
What can I expect after treatment and what precautions should I take?
  1. Immediately after treatment there may be erythema (redness) and edema (swelling) at the treatment site. This usually last 2 hours or longer. The erythema may last up to 10 days. The treatment area may feel like a sunburn for a. few hours after the treatment, but this will subside.
  2. Apply ice as needed.
  3. Hydrocortisone may be used for 3-5 days post treatment.
  4. No heat, such as saunas, steam rooms, Jacuzzis, extremely hot showers, or strenuous activities. No prolonged heat for a minimum of 48 hours post treatment.
  5. AVOID sun exposure to avoid any chances of hyper- or hypo-pigmentation.
  6. Avoid picking or scratching the treated areas. Please do not use any hair removal products or similar treatments as these will disturb the hair follicle. Shaving is permitted.
  7. Up to two weeks post treatment you will notice shedding of the treated hair. This is NOT new growth. You can clean and remove the hair by washing or wiping the area with a wet cloth.
  8. Treat your skin GENTLY for at least 24 hours after your treatment.
  9. Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen of a least 30 SPF and protect the treated area from sunlight for 1 whole month. Sun exposure may cause hyperpigmentation. Re-apply your sunscreen every 2-3 hours as needed. Remember that clothing and hats DO NOT give completely protection from UV radiation.
Are there side effects?

Permanent side effects are rare. Temporary side effects may include redness, swelling, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, blistering and purpura (laser bruise) in the treated area. [These usually do not last more than a few days.]

Are these treatments covered by insurance?
